Accra Cohort of Education Innovation Labs Launches with Transformative Teacher Training Programme

Accra, Ghana – November 22, 2024: This week, the Education Innovation Labs project took a significant step forward towards training teachers in the targeted schools for the project. The first cohort of the training was held fromTuesday, 19th to Thursday, 21st November 2024. The three-day programme brought together forty teachers from Pentecost Preparatory School Madina, University of Ghana Basic School, Accra College of Education Demonstration School, and Gbegbeyise Basic School.
In partnership withGhana Society for Education Technology (GSET),CAMFED, andSTEMAIDE, this transformative training introduced participants to key concepts such asdigital literacy, the integration of EdTech solutions such asASANKAin mainstream teaching and learning, the practical use ofSTEMkits in teaching and learning, and strategies to improvinggirls in ICT education.
After the training programme, participants were recognized for their dedication withcertificates of participation,badges of honour, andContinuing Professional Development (CPD) points.
Commenting on the initiative,Mr. Thomas Eghan Ekuban, Head of Business Operations at TECHAiDE, stated:
“The Education Innovation Labs are state-of-the-art learning environments, designed to enhance educational quality and accessibility in primary and junior high schools using innovative technologies across twelve regions in Ghana which will be replicated in other African states.”
